Chart changes to help cut airspace infringements in Birmingham Control Terminal Area

Chart changes to help cut airspace infringements in Birmingham Control Terminal Area. In an effort to reduce the growing number of infringements of controlled airspace around Birmingham Airport, the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and air traffic service provider, NATS, have agreed to amend the CAA 1:500k VFR chart depicting the area.

Submit regular Olympics flight plans now to get them checked. Are you a flying school, club or airfield that will be filing flight plans to use the Restricted Zone during this summer's Olympics? The Airspace and Safety Initiative (ASI) is encouraging people to develop template flight plans of frequently used trips and is offering the chance to have those draft plans checked in advance by the NATS and MoD teams that will be processing flight plans this summer.
